MTH 202 SOLUTION
Question 1
Let a function f: R®R be defined by
f(x) =2x3 + 7 Show that f is bijective.
Solution:
f is one-to-one
Let f(x1) = 2 x13 + 7 and f(x2) = 2 x23 + 7
By the definition we know that,
f(x1) = f(x2) for x1 , x2 Î R
2 x13 + 7 = 2 x23 + 7
2 x13 - 2 x23 = 7 – 7
2( x13 - x23 ) = 0
x13 - x23 = 0
(x1 - x2)( x12 + 2x1 x2 + x22) = 0
x1 - x2 = 0 ; x12 + 2x1 x2 + x22 = 0
x1 = x2 (The second equation gives no real solution)
Accordingly f is one-to-one.
f is onto
f(x) =2x3 + 7
let y Î R. We search for x Î R such that
f(x) = y
2x3 + 7 = y
x3 = OR x =
f(x) = f [ ]
f(x) = 2 + 7 = y – 7 + 7
f(x) = y
Thus f is a Bijective

Solutionوَمَا أَرْسَلْنَاكَ إِلَّا رَحْمَةً لِّلْعَالَمِين
َTranslation: “And [thus, O Prophet,] We have sent thee as [an evidence of Our] grace towards all the worlds.”Muhammad (saw) is one of Allah’s prophets and messengers. Holy Prophet (saw) was the last prophet and messenger of Allah. He was sent at the end of all the prophets. Allah sent many human beings in this universe as his messengers to teach and tell the right way to his creations. That they may be able to live their lives in the best way. Before the appearance of Islam the people of Makkah were in the darkness, they have very illiterate customs and they were following them from hundreds of years. Those people were praying the great Allah’s creations but not Allah. Because, they did not know about him and that who is the creator of all of them. In that time Allah sent a prophet to preach the people of Makkah. Thus, the Holy Prophet (saw) being a prophet, preached every people of Makkah and also he went to other Villages of Arab to preach the people about the message of Allah. But in the beginning very less people accept him as the Last Prophet. Many people teased him and harmed him. And make fun of him and called him fool person. After 13 years Holy Prophet and his Companions with Allah’s will decided to go to Madina. Because the people of Makkah teased the Muslims very much. So, he (saw) went to Madina. On reaching Madina the people of Madina welcome them very well. They all know about the Message of Allah and they accept him as the last prophet of Allah. (33:40)“Muhammad is not the father of any of your men, but the Messenger of Allah and the Final Seal of the Prophets. Allah has knowledge of all things.” (33:40)In Madina Holy Prophet (saw) based the Islamic State. The Islamic structure was consisting of all the living values and all the problems of life with their easy solutions. As the Qur’an says:وَمَا أَرْسَلْنَاكَ إِلَّا كَافَّةً لِّلنَّاسِ بَشِيرًا وَنَذِيرًا وَلَكِنَّ أَكْثَرَ النَّاسِ لَا يَعْلَمُونَ (34:28)“We only sent you for the whole of mankind, bringing good news and giving warning. But most of mankind do not know it.” (34:28)All the Islamic living values were not only for the people of Arab but also for the entire Universe. Because holy Prophet (saw) sent his many companions to the other kingdoms and to the other countries, to preached the message of Islam and to invite them to be Muslim and accept Allah as their God and accept Holy Prophet (saw) as his last prophet. As, this is mentioned many times that Holy Prophet (saw) was the last and final Prophet of Allah then who will preached them or guide the people after him (saw). The answer of this question is that, Allah sends his last prophet with all the knowledge and solutions of all the living values and problems. Those can get from the Book “Holy Qur’an” and the aaHadeeth-e Nabvi (saw). As Allah said:“AND AS a guide towards the truth have We bestowed this [revelation] from on high; with this [very] truth has it come down [unto thee, O Prophet]: for We have sent thee but as a herald of glad tidings and a warner,”وَبِالْحَقِّ أَنزَلْنَاهُ وَبِالْحَقِّ نَزَلَ وَمَا أَرْسَلْنَاكَ إِلاَّ مُبَشِّرًا وَنَذِيرًا (17:105)Relating to this Aayat-e-Qur’ani Allah has cleared that the Holy Prophet (saw) is a guide towards the truth. In the aayah, which is mentioned in the start, that telling us that Allah sent the holy Prophet (saw) to the entire Universe and the whole Muslim Nation. And all the knowledge that Allah provided us through the Holy Prophet (saw) is not benefited the Muslims only but it is also forever and for everyone in the world. As God has clearly mentioned in Holly Quran in Surrah Al_Araf

THE SIGNIFICANCE OF SELF LEADERSHIPDon’t get the idea that self leadership is self-serving. It is your energy to initiate, motivation to learn, commitment to succeed, desire to contribute, ability to produce, and your passion for work that enables your organization to fulfill its potential and sustain its success. Unfortunately, many organizations don’t get the importance of self leadership.SELF LEADERSHIP AT WORK—THE KEY TO ENGAGED EMPLOYEESA popular bit of recent research reveals that only 20 percent of almost two million workers in the Pakistan claim their strengths are in play every day, indicating that most organizations operate below 20 percent capacity.1 It’s even more dismal for workers in countries outside the Pakistan.2 The research claims that fewer than 80 percent of workers are engaged in their work—19 percent are actively disengaged—signifying that their contributions are significantly diminished and they may thwart or even sabotage organizational efforts. The remedies recommended most often for re-engaging workers rely on organizations and managers to do something different. But consider what might happen if the focus shifted to fostering self leaders who make it their own responsibility to put their strengths in play every day. Imagine a workplace full of self leaders finding ways to contribute in spite of being hamstrung by bad systems, coping with organizational dinosaurs, or suffering with an incompetent manager. It just makes sense that every organization should develop self leaders— yet this is usually the most underfunded and undervalued aspect of leadership training. (Is this a result of believing that training efforts are most valuable when directed to those who hold formal leadership roles or based on a fear of employees knowing too much? An interesting, but divergent question) The fact is the lion’s share of money and effort in most organizations is earmarked for training high-potential leaders who are taught how to delegate responsibility—to pass the ball, so to speak. But woefully little is allocated to teaching the rank and file how to catch the ball and run. (Let alone, how to take the ball and run!)

Cooperation and competition between people and between groups have been shown to have profoundly different consequences for social dynamics and conflict. Competitive tasks or reward structures induce people to fight for perceived limited resources be they tangible or intangible. Research has consistently shown that competition: induces the use of tactics of coercion, threat, or deception; attempts to enhance the power differences between oneself and the other; poor communication, minimization of the awareness of similarities in values and increased sensitivity to opposed interests; fosters suspicious and hostile attitudes; increases the importance, rigidity, and size of the issues in conflict. In contrast, cooperation and cooperative tasks or reward structures induce: a perceived similarity in beliefs and attitudes; a readiness to be helpful; openness in communication; trusting and friendly attitudes; sensitivity to common interests; a de-emphasis to opposed interests; an orientation to enhancing mutual power rather than power differences.

Answer2:An evolutionary development approach is typically used to develop and implement software, except for any commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) components which, by definition, do not require software development. This approach has been described by software developer as the "best practice for software development and implementation". According to developers "evolutionary delivery is a lifecycle model that straddles the ground between evolutionary prototyping and staged delivery." Early versions of the system are presented to the customer and the system is refined and enhanced based on customer feedback. The cycle continues until development time runs out (schedule constraint) or funding for development runs out (resource constraint). There is a strong desire to use this approach since it is the most beneficial approach to use for prototype-to-operational development efforts typically used. Research and system development efforts that several national labs are performing for the FAA, NASA, and U.S. military also use this development methodology. Software systems are often developed and implemented based solely on detailed specifications and operational concept documents and only after the systems have been delivered do users realize that the systems are not what they envisioned. It is very difficult to determine the detailed preferences of customers and exactly how a system will be used before it is placed before the users, especially when potential users have a diverse set of tasks to perform. With this in mind, a development (prototyping) environment is usually established during the first year of a project. The development environment will continue to be used during subsequent years to support ongoing developments, enhancements, and demonstration activities. During the time that the development environment is in place, users will gain experience with the systems, displays, and products and be in a better position to determine how the system will be incorporated into their operational environment during subsequent phases of projects.Evolutionary models are considered to be the best approach to software development in a modern context because time lines for the development of modern software are getting shorter and shorter, customers are becoming more diverse (making the understanding of requirements even harder), and changes to requirements are becoming even more common (before delivery), we need a way to provide incremental or evolutionary delivery. The evolutionary process accommodates uncertainty better than most process models, allows the delivery of partial solutions in an orderly and planned manner, and most importantly, reflects what really happens when complex systems are built.

Assignment:CS504 SoftwareEngineering
Write Abstract (Summary) of given research paper
Titled “Reducing Coupling” by Martin Fowler”.
Reducing Coupling
If changing one module in a program requires changing another module, then there is a coupling presents. Duplication always implies coupling. Coupling is desirable, because it saves us to write a big program to put together all the modules. It is a controlled process.Look at dependencies
To consider coupling everywhere is not a good approach.Pattern of dependency relationship is important not the number of modules. Diagram defined in the Unified Modeling Language (UML) is very helpful to know about the dependencies. The UI module usually depends on the domain module, but not the other way around. UML dependencies are also nontransitive. This nontransitivity is important because it lets us show that the domain model insulates the UI from changes in the database. Thus, if the database’s interface changes,we don’t immediately have to worry about a change in the UI. The UI will only change if the change in the database causes a big enough change in the domain that the domain’s interface also changes.Layered architecture should be familiar to anyone who works in information systems.A common piece of advice regarding dependency structures is to avoid cycles. Cycled systems are harder to understand because we have to go around the cycle many times.A mapper packageA mapper is a package that provides insulation in both directions. The mapper package provides insulation in both directions, which lets the domain and database change independently of each other. Other kind of dependency is the relationship between an interface and its implementation. An implementation depends on its interface but not vice versa. Any caller of an interface depends only on the interface, even if a separate module implements it.Defining an interface in a module that a separate module intends to implement is a fundamental way to break dependencies and reduce coupling.A common example in the Java world is a listener. Because listeners are classes, they are more explicit, which clarifies things. Direction of the dependencies and the way they flow is important not the lesser dependencies.

Q No. 1 (a): In how many ways can 4 boys and 5 girls sit in a
row if every boy and girl has to sit side by side?
In order to fulfill the given condition, the seating arrangement must be as
follows.
GIRL BOY GIRL BOY GIRL BOY GIRL BOY GIRL
5 girls can seat in 5 × 4 × 3 × 2 × 1 = 120 ways
4 boys can seat in 4 × 3 × 2 × 1 = 24 ways
Total number of ways in which 5 girls and 4 boys can sit fulfilling the
given condition = 120 × 24 = 2880
Q No. 1 (b): Briefly explain the terms mutually exclusive
events, exhaustive events and sample space.
Mutually Exclusive Events: Those events that cannot occur at the same
time.
Example: When we toss the coin, we get either Heads or Tails but not both.
Exhaustive Events: Events are said to be collectively exhaustive, when the union of mutually exclusive events is the entire sample space.
Example: When we toss a coin, then Heads and Tails are collectively known as Exhaustive Events.
Sample Space: Sample Space is a set which consists of all possible outcomes resulting from a random experiment
Example: Sample Space in case of a fair die is S = {1,2,3,4,5,6}
Q No. 1 (c): A fair coin is tossed. Make a sample space and find
the probability of the followings:
I. One head appears
II. One tail appears
III. No head appears
The sample space for a toss is S = {Heads, Tails}
One head appears = . = 0.5
One tail appears = . = 0.5
No head appears = . = 0.5
Q No. 2 (a): In a simple linear regression yˆ = a + bx , interpret the
coefficients “a” and “b”.
a is called the y-intercept, and b indicates the rate of change in y with
respect to x and is formally known as the slope of the line.
Q No. 2 (b): A computer while computing the correlation
coefficient between two variables x and y from 25 pairs of
observations, obtained the following results:
n = 25 , Σx = 125 , Σx2 = 650 , Σy = 100 , Σy2 = 460 , Σxy = 508
It was, however discovered at the time of re-checking that it
had mistakenly copied down two pairs of observations as
below:
x y
11 10
9 7
While the correct values were
x y
14 8
12 9
Now find out the correct value of correlation coefficient
between x and y.
Correct Σx = 125 – 11 – 9 + 14 + 12 = 131
Correct Σy = 100 – 10 – 7 + 8 + 9 = 100
Correct Σx2 = 650 – 112 – 92 + 142 + 122 = 788
Correct Σy2 = 460 – 102 – 72 + 82 + 92 = 456
Correct Σxy = 508 – (11 × 10) – (9 × 7) + (14 × 8) + (12 × 9) = 555

Hubs, switches, and routers are all devices that let you connect one or more computers to other computers, networked devices, or to other networks. Each has two or more connectors called ports into which you plug in the cables to make the connection. Varying degrees of magic happen inside the device, and therein lies the difference. I often see the terms misused so let's clarify what each one really means.A hub is typically the least expensive, least intelligent, and least complicated of the three. Its job is very simple: anything that comes in one port is sent out to the others. That's it. Every computer connected to the hub "sees" everything that every other computer on the hub sees. The hub itself is blissfully ignorant of the data being transmitted. For years, simple hubs have been quick and easy ways to connect computers in small networks.A switch does essentially what a hub does but more efficiently. By paying attention to the traffic that comes across it, it can "learn" where particular addresses are. For example, if it sees traffic from machine A coming in on port 2, it now knows that machine A is connected to that port and that traffic to machine A needs to only be sent to that port and not any of the others. The net result of using a switch over a hub is that most of the network traffic only goes where it needs to rather than to every port. On busy networks this can make the network significantly faster.
A router is the smartest and most complicated of the bunch. Routers come in all shapes and sizes from the small four-port broadband routers that are very popular right now to the large industrial strength devices that drive the internet itself. A simple way to think of a router is as a computer that can be programmed to understand, possibly manipulate, and route the data its being asked to handle. For example, broadband routers include the ability to "hide" computers behind a type of firewall which involves slightly modifying the packets of network traffic as they traverse the device. All routers include some kind of user interface for configuring how the router will treat traffic. The really large routers include the equivalent of a full-blown programming language to describe how they should operate as well as the ability to communicate with other routers to describe or determine the best way to get network traffic from point A to point B.
A quick note on one other thing that you'll often see mentioned with these devices and that's network speed. Most devices now are capable of both 10mps (10 mega-bits, or million bits, per second) as well as 100mbs and will automatically detect the speed. If the device is labeled with only one speed then it will only be able to communicate with devices that also support that speed. 1000mbs or "gigabit" devices are starting to slowly become more common as well. Similarly many devices now also include 802.11b or 802.11g wireless transmitters that simply act like additional ports to the device.

Impact on Economy
This technology contributes to several national economic prosperity goals. Its major contribution is to job creation and economic growth because it is an essential part of the new manufacturing infrastructure centered on computer- controlled manufacturing. For example, by contributing to producibility and lower costs of "clean cars," CIM support software plays an important role in making clean cars more economically viable and giving U.S. industry advantage in the new generation of vehicles for world markets. It provides one of the tools which can be used to excel at the products and processes identified by the NEMI as essential for future competitiveness of U.S. electronics industry in world markets. It provides the capabilities to work with new materials tailored specifically to the needs of automotive, electronics, construction and aircraft industries, and is essential to the design and economic production of sophisticated new automobiles and aircraft. Finally, CIM support software contributes to the harnessing of information technology because many of the physical components of the information infrastructure, e.g., integrated circuits, can be manufactured more productively with reliance on CIM.
CIM BENEFITS
According to the U.S. National Research Council, CIM improves production productivity by 40 to 70 percent, as well as enhances engineering productivity and quality. CIM can also decrease design costs by 15 to 30 percent, reduce overall lead time by 20 to 60 percent, and cut work-in-process inventory by 30 to 60 percent. Managers who use CIM believe that there is a direct relationship between the efficiency of information management and the efficiency and the overall effectiveness of the manufacturing enterprise. Thacker's view is that many CIM programs focus attention on the efficiency of information management and the problems that come with it instead of developing new and more sophisticated manufacturing machines, material transformation processes, manufacturing management processes, and production facilities. Computer-integrated manufacturing can be applied to nonmanufacturing organizations by changing the manufacturing focus toward a service orientation. CIM and Job Definition Format (JDF) are becoming increasingly beneficial to printing companies to streamline their production process.

Q1. Define ‘Time relaters’ and ‘value words’ with examples. 3+ 2 =5
Time relaters:
These words relates the time in sequence. In activities such as scheduling, doing routine activities, and conducting and describing experiments, it is important to recognize the sequence of events. Events do not simply occur in isolation, they occur either before, during, or after other events. This time sequence may be chronological, logical, or causal.
Value words
The words that are used to express taste and preferences, to express decisions and choices, to criticize and evaluate, to advise, warn, persuade, praise, and encourage. Their function is to guide our own choices and those of other people by commending or prescribing
Q2-Complete the paragraph by choosing words from the list given. 10
Those examples of poetic justice that occur in medieval and Elizabethan literature, and that seem so satisfying, have encouraged a whole school of twentieth-century scholars to “find” further examples. In fact, these scholars have merely forced victimized characters into a moral framework by which the injustices inflicted on them are, somehow or other, justified. Such scholars deny that the sufferers in a tragedy are innocent; they blame the victims themselves for their tragic fates. Any misdoing is enough to subject a character to critical whips.
Yet it should be remembered that the Renaissance writer Matteo Bandello strongly protests the injustice of the severe penalties issued to women for acts of disobedience that men could, and did, commit with virtual impunity. Shakespeare, Chaucer, and Webster often enlisit their readers on the side of their tragic heroines by describing injustices so cruel that readers cannot but join in protest.
